INFORMATION

Entry Fees (Pre-Entries Only)
- Half Marathon (21.1 km): R180.00
Unlicensed runners: R230.00 - 10 km Race: R150.00
Unlicensed runners: R200.00 - 5 km Fun Run: R80.00
(Entries for the 5 km Fun Run will be done on 08/05/2026 from 16:00 – 20:00)
2.
Pre-Entry Cut-Off
- Pre-entries close on 06/05/2026
at 20:00.
3.
Late Entries
- Late entries will be
accepted on 08/05/2026 from 16:00 – 20:00.
4.
Temporary Licences
- Temporary licences are
available at R50.00 for the 21.1 km and 10 km races only.
- Temporary licences are not
applicable to the 5 km Fun Run.
5.
Start / Finish Venue
- Central University of
Technology (CUT), Welkom Campus

Facilities
- Toilet facilities will
be available at the venue.
- Showers and changing
rooms will also be available for use.

Water Points
- Water points will be
provided every 3 km and at the finish line.

Prize Giving
- Prize giving will take
place at 10:30 and will be for prize winners only.
- All attendees are
requested to be seated in the multi-purpose hall by 10:00.

to all finishers (bronze medals apply).
- Cut-off Times:
- 21.1 km Half Marathon: 3 hours (09:30)
- 10 km: 2 hours (09:00)
- 5 km Fun Run: 2 hours (09:00)

RULES
AND REGULATIONS
- The race is conducted
under the rules of World Athletics (WA), Athletics South Africa (ASA),
and Athletics Free State (AFS).
- Athletes indemnify
national, provincial, and regional bodies, sponsors, and organizers
against any claims arising from participation in the event.
- Participation is at the
athlete’s own risk. Athletes confirm they are medically fit to compete.
- All athletes must
provide the name and contact number of their next of kin on both the entry
form and race number.
- Licensed athletes must
wear official club colours and display the 2026 licence number on
the front and back of their vest. The race number must be worn on the
front and may not obscure ASA or sponsor logos.
- Temporary licence
numbers must be worn on the front, in accordance with ASA rules. Temporary
licence athletes may not use results for qualification purposes.
- No insurance cover is
provided for athletes running on temporary licences.
- No blades, bicycles, or
mechanically operated devices are permitted.
- Foreign athletes must
comply with ASA regulations and submit a certified letter from their
country of origin, together with a copy of their passport, to the race
organizer.
- Wheelchair athletes will
not be permitted to participate.
- No animals or pets are
allowed.
- Minimum age
requirements:
- 10 km: 14 years
- 21.1 km: 16 years
- Fun Run/Walk: Children aged 9 years
and older, under parental or guardian supervision
- Prize winners will be
notified by the race organizer. Valid identification (ID/Passport/Driver’s
Licence) is required to sign for prize money.
- Prize money will be
paid in person in a formal ceremony at 10:30 on race day.
- No prize money will be
paid if random drug testing has been conducted until ASA receives results
from SAIDFS.
- No refunds will be
issued once an entry has been purchased. In the event of cancellation due
to circumstances beyond the organizers’ control, the race may be converted
into a virtual event. Medal distribution may incur additional postage
costs.
- Athletes may not run
with another athlete’s race number.
- The use of earphones,
iPods, or similar devices is prohibited in terms of WA Rule T6.3.2
and may result in disqualification.
- The organizer reserves
the right to refuse entry or remove participants who are under the
influence of alcohol or drugs, disorderly, or involved in misconduct or
vandalism.
- Athletes participating
without a valid entry will be disqualified, forfeit all benefits, and be
liable for a double entry fee. Athletes who duplicate race numbers may
face AFS disciplinary action, including a possible ban.
- Habitual offenders will
be referred to an AFS disciplinary committee as part of the AFS Clean
Run initiative.
- Littering is prohibited.
Athletes must use designated bins and may be disqualified for littering.

- 21.1 km: 09:30
- 10 km: 09:00
- 5 km Fun Run: 09:00
Athletes will not be allowed to finish after the cut-off times. - No late starters will be
permitted (later than 5 minutes after the official start time).
- All participants must
adhere to health and safety regulations throughout the event.
- Results enquiries will
only be accepted for 3 days after results are published.
