ESSENTIAL RACE INFORMATION AND REGULATIONS

 

RULES, REGULATIONS, RACE INSTRUCTION AND INFORAMTION

Entrants will participate under the rules of CSA and it is the cyclist’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the rules.

By agreeing to enter the event, the cyclist automatically agrees to abide by the race rules, and any final instructions issued prior to race day.

Cyclists must provide a valid mobile number and email address. This will be used exclusively by race organization for important notices.

 

ENTRIES, REGISTRATION, PAYMENTS

Online entries close at midnight, 18 February 2026.

Late Entries: 20 February 2026 from 16:00 – 19:00 at Shell Ultra City Pitstop. Electronic entry forms will be used, and card payment facilities will be available. A late entry penalty fee of R50 will apply.

No entries on race day.

Free State Series: A valid 2026 CSA license must be available

Fun Riders (Open Category):  A temporary CSA license must be acquired.

 

DISTANCES

104km    Start 07:00 at Shell Ultra City Pitstop

52km      Start 07:05 at Shell Ultra City Pitstop

26km      Start 07:10 at Shell Ultra City Pitstop

18km      Start 07:00 at Shell Cnr Raymond Mhlaba & Walker Street

 

TEMPORARY LICENSES

Cyclists without a CSA license are required to buy a temporary license for R70 when registering.

 

RACE PACK COLLECTION

Race pack collection will be held at Shell Ultra City Pitstop 20 February 2026 from 16:00 – 19:00.

 

TIMING

Chiptimer will be used to time the event.

 

CONDUCT DURING A CYCLING EVENT

Marshals and traffic officials must be always obeyed. Failure to comply with their instructions will lead to immediate disqualification.

Any abusive or threatening action or comments to marshals, traffic officials, or technical officials will result in security removing the cyclist from the race and a report to the Provincial federation for additional disciplinary procedures.

Littering is an offence (rule 28). Do your bit to ensure that the race is litter free.

 

REFRESHMENTS STATIONS & MEDICAL FACILITIES

Refreshment stations (±13km) will be provided.

Medical support on route and medical services available at the finish line.

Refreshments will also be available at the finish point at Shell Ultra City Pitstop.

 

FINISH

The race will finish at Shell Ultra City Pitstop

The Cut-off times:

Free Sate Series Riders: 4 hours

Fun Riders: 5 hours

 

PRIZE GIVING AND AWARDS

Prize money will be awarded to Overall as well as Age Categories in the free State Series.

Prize money will also be awarded to the overall positions for the Fun Riders.

Prize giving Free State Series: 11:00.

Prize giving Fun Riders: 12:00.

 

T-SHIRT ORDERS

T-shirts may be ordered before 10 February (R220 each). It will be printed and available during race pack collection on 20 February.

 

 

INDEMNITY AND WAIVERS

By participating in the race, cyclists waive any claims against national, provincial, and regional bodies, as well as sponsors and organizers, for any actions arising from their participation or other related circumstances.

Entry fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged due to weather or unforeseen events beyond the organizers’ control.

I also authorize the organizers and their agents, under Section 51 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, to use my name, race details, and any photos, videos, broadcasts, or telecasts featuring me for any purpose, without compensation.

 

CANCELLATION

Note: There is no intention of cancellation of this event, but if cancellation is enforced then all fees are non-refundable.
